As one of the first people in the UK to work within social media, Sedge forged her path with global brands such as Red Bull, Three and ASOS, building their social platforms to help them understand their loyal customers in a new way, enabling them to engage far more successfully with their audiences. Having started as ASOS’ sole social employee and built her team up to a 32 strong work force, she decided to set up her own company and launched SEEN Connects: an innovative, global influencer and social marketing agency. SEEN Connects looks to revolutionise the marketing world by focusing on three core elements: data, relationships and archetypes. By doing this, Sedge and her team enable themselves as an innovative influencer marketing agency that harnesses the power of influencers to inspire consumers and drive impact for brands. Just some of the brands currently among Connects’ client list are: Red Bull, Nike, Superdry, Jo Malone London and Shop Direct Group.
Sedge enjoys sharing her skills and knowledge with the world as a visiting university lecturer, a regular speaker hosting workshops at places such as Number 10 Downing St and Google Digital Garage – aimed at helping the older generation to understand the new digital world. In addition to her public speaking, Sedge has written two books based on social platform experiences (focusing on Twitter and Instagram) as a fun way of helping everyone understand the role and importance of social channels in everyday life, providing an invaluable insight into how the industry works. Sedge also set up a mentor programme mentoring young people in first marketing roles, she is responsible for having placed over 50 young people into jobs in the UK at companies such as ASOS, Moonpig and Zegna, because of her connections and advisory nature towards graduates and students.
