Cleo is an inclusion and diversity expert, whose successful senior corporate career has spanned 20 years. Her role at Marks & Spencer involves creating and delivering an I&D strategy aimed at supporting M&S’s thousands of colleagues, millions of customers and the communities in which their shops and offices are located.
She has worked for companies which include Coca-Cola European Partners, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Credit Suisse, Australian engineering conglomerate WorleyParsons, children’s charity Plan International and US insurance company Liberty Specialty Markets. Her work has helped the companies with whom she collaborates understand the business case, benefits and ROI of adopting a fresh approach to inclusion and diversity - improving their metrics and supporting a higher level of employee engagement, as well as winning them recognition from such external bodies as Catalyst, the Disability Confident Scheme, The European Diversity Awards, Business in the Community, Stonewall, Working Families, DiversityInc and Working Mother.
Justin Tomlinson MP, Minister for Disabled People recently appointed Cleo as the UK Government Disability & Access Ambassador for the retail industry and she was the recipient of a 2011 World of Difference award from the International Alliance of Women, presented to her at the White House by Michelle Obama, for her work in supporting the economic empowerment of women and girls around the world.
She is also a coach, a Mental Health First Aider, an accredited Dementia Friend and has delivered bias awareness, inclusive leadership and stereotype-reduction classroom events and follow up sessions to over 5,000 people in the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Singapore and Australia.
