COVID-19 Safety Plan

The measures in our COVID-19 Safety Plan are based on recognised events industry standards: Ascential Secure is the health and safety standard for live events, developed by our parent company. It mirrors the ‘All Secure’ COVID-19 safety standards published by industry association partners including UFI, AEO and SISO.  

Our COVID-19 Safety Plan also reflects the requirements of the UK  government, the local authorities in England and Magazine London. This is a detailed overview of our COVID-19 safety measures which are being constantly reviewed and we will adjust our Safety Plan as necessary to match the latest medical advice and government regulations.

 A complete version of the COVID-19 Safety Plan will be published prior to Retail Week Live taking place.  

Featured below are the Top Key Measures which are considered to be the most important.

Enhanced Cleaning:

We will undertake enhanced, deep cleaning before, during and after Retail Week Live, working with venue partners to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness. This includes continuous sanitisation throughout the course of Retail Week Live, with a focus on high-touch areas such as door handles, restrooms and food & beverage areas.

Personal Hygiene:  

We will provide additional hand sanitising stations throughout the event space, encouraging all participants to regularly wash and disinfect their hands.

Physical Contact:

We will request that participants avoid physical contact, such as handshakes and embraces, promoting alternative ways to greet business partners. The exchange of printed materials, such as business cards and sales brochures, will also be discouraged.

Food and beverage:

Our event operations team will work closely with venue partners to employ the highest standard of food safety, minimising risks. These measures will be continuously reviewed in line with government guidelines. 

Personal protective equipment (PPE):

During Retail Week Live we will continue to follow any mandatory English regulations on wearing PPE.  Other items of PPE, such as gloves, masks and eye screens, can be worn if participants wish to.

First Aid:

The venue will have a team of qualified first aiders on site and a separate quarantine area.  Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.  We will follow the English  health authority guidance on detecting and managing anyone who shows symptoms of COVID-19.

Health screening:

A negative COVID test will  be required before attending Live.  We will continually monitor the guidance and  may review this at a later date.    

Trace and contact:

In the event of any positive test results, we will use the NHS Track and Trace app to trace and contact guests at Retail Week Live.

As a starting point, we will follow the relevant industry standards, including the top key measures identified above.

Retail Week Live will also be run according to the guidance of the UK  government, and any venue-specific regulations.  These are being constantly reviewed and we will adjust our Safety Plan as necessary to match the latest medical advice and government regulations.

Can you guarantee my safety at Retail Week Live?
No environment away from your home can ever be 100% safe.

We are putting in place a comprehensive range of enhanced safety measures that make the health and safety of everyone who attends our absolute priority.

Through measures such as proof of negative covid tests,  enhanced deep cleaning before, during and after events and non-contact registration,  we are striving to provide the highest standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness, and to ensure that our audience can celebrate their achievements whilst feeling safe. 

Will I need to provide evidence of a COVID-19 vaccine?
At present no, we are not planning on requiring evidence  of vaccination for people to attend the Live.  However, we are continuing to monitor government guidelines and if this becomes a regulation, we will adapt our policy to adhere to the government guidelines. 

Will I need to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test?
At present, evidence of a negative COVID test will be required for access Retail Week Live. We are currently making arrangements for COVID-19 antigen tests to  be available upon arrival at the venue, but will continue to monitor the requirements and will update the website accordingly.

Will I need to be tested if I’ve already had a COVID-19 vaccine?
Yes, the current medical advice is that to prevent transmission of the virus, everyone should be tested before entering the venue.

What happens if there is a lockdown where I live or if I have to quarantine on the way there or back? 

If you find yourself in any of the below scenarios within 30 days before Retail Week Live, we’ll be happy to move your pass across to next year, if there is sufficient evidence to show that either;

the government of the country or state where you are resident ("Delegate Territory") has closed its border so that you are prohibited from travel from or back to Delegate Territory; or
the government of Delegate Territory has issued official advice against travel to London or the UK; or
the government of Delegate Territory has imposed an unavoidable quarantine on return from travel from London or the UK; or
the government or state of Delegate Territory has imposed a period of lockdown so that you are prohibited from leaving your home except for essential requirements,

then your ticket will be transferred to the next edition of Retail Week Live.

We'd also be happy to help you transfer your ticket to a colleague or client to attend in your place if you prefer.
